PurelyB Pedals Up A Storm With CYCOLOGY

Last week the PurelyB community headed to Glo Damansara where we pedalled and climbed our way through distant terrains, all while strapped comfortably into our BodyBike Smart+ bikes at the brand new CycoSpin studio! After having our bikes synced with our personal BodyBike apps, Zi Jin, our Les Mills RPM qualified advanced instructor enthusiastically led us into an intense 50-minute workout defined by 7 heart thumping songs.

As a pack, we rhythmically pedalled through a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat rides controlling our resistance and speed to the instructions of Zi Jin, who got us working up a good sweat FAST! Between pedalling our hardest uphill to reach our cardio peak before easing back down, we were able to keep pace with rest of the pack having our individual bikes projected onscreen with personal avatars.

One of the most unique aspects of our RPM class was that we were able to control the intensity of our personal workout while being able to draw from the group’s onscreen dynamic to motivate and push ourselves further. Finding our rhythm with the music and pushing through when we thought we’d reached our limit was a truly rewarding feeling! Did our quads feel like they were on fire? Yes. Did we leave looking like we’d just been swimming? Yes. But the united feeling of accomplishment we came out the studio with was inspiring and left us with our endorphins rocketing sky high!

With classes that focus on assessing your power output using Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and results synced straight into personal BodyBike apps, there is an encouraging emphasis on being able to measure your own improvement as you build up your fitness level. As CYCOLOGY puts it themselves – ‘It’s a journey, not a race!’
