What do vegans eat if they can’t have pizza, burgers or ice cream? Not even everyone’s favourite nasi lemak or curry noodles? Just salad right? WRONG. If you find yourself thinking these thoughts or asking these questions, you’re in for a treat - Malaysia is hosting its first World Vegan Day event this year!
Expect not only for your food expectations to be shattered with delicious vegan versions of all of the above, but also to learn more from the vegan community in KL with fitness demos, health talks, recipe workshops and many more!We are thrilled to announce that PurelyB are sponsors of the exciting 2-day festival that will be turning heads of Malaysia’s meat eaters at The Square @ Publika, Mont Kiara on 4-5th November 2017. A one stop event on all things vegan, World Vegan Day Malaysia 2017 will offer locals the opportunity to learn all about healthy, compassionate and sustainable living without hitting the library. At PurelyB, we are proud to be supporting such events and to see the rise of interest healthy and sustainable lifestyles in Asia!
This year will be the first time a World Vegan Day festival is hosted in Malaysia with a line up of creative cooking demos, inspirational speeches and insightful panel discussions amongst other fun-filled activities for anticipated vegans and non-vegans alike.
Even though veganism has been on the rise globally over the last few years, the understanding of what vegans eat is still an unfulfilled question amongst Malaysians, let alone what their lifestyle entails. With the help of numerous food vendors, attendees will get an explosive taste of the different types of food and desserts that vegans delightfully devour. To name a few, there will be baked goods and cakes by LN Fortunate Coffee, hot tacos by Sala, creamy coconut ice creams by Kelava Ice Cream and cheesy spreads by Vegan Cheese Home – all vegan of course!
The event will also include the sharing of insightful knowledge through a panel talk with the public by well respected experts such as Ms. Ee Lynn Wong, Vice Chair of Malaysian Nature Society Selangor branch and an SPCA volunteer in Selangor since 1996. She and a few others will be on stage at the Square to discuss their thoughts on topics Malaysians can learn from, while also giving attendees the opportunity to directly ask them questions themselves.
And all you fitness and health enthusiasts, don’t worry as there’ll be something for you too with workout sessions before you indulge in cruelty free, healthy desserts! Zumba will be hosted by women-empowered zumba team: Ms. Azian, Ms. Sharon and Ms. Jeanny, and yogis can start their morning with Strala Yoga sessions hosted by the beautiful Ms. Grace Khoo.
